Information Regarding IPS examination.

Indian Police Service (IPS) examination is also known as the Civil Services examination which is conducted by the UPSC in every year for the selection of the talented candidates of India as the post of IPS officer. IPS officer job is consider as the one of the best job of India. To appear in the Civil Services examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification = Graduation in any stream from a recognize university. The final year graduate candidates are eligible to apply for the IPS examination.

Graduation from a recognised university or a college in India is the minimum eligibility criteria for IPS. He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing in the UPSC held Civil Services Examination.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Exam every year. The Civil Services Exam holds the key for entry into a number of prestigious jobs in the country including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).

IAS, IFS, and IPS are the top three services of Group A, Central Services. The other Group A services include Indian Customs and Central Excise Service, Indian Revenue Service, and Indian Postal Service.

Civil Services Exam consists of preliminary exam (prelims), main exam (mains), and interview. The prelims are usually held in May /June. Mains are held in October/November. The exam is notified in December. Application forms can be obtained from designated post offices around the country and the exams are held in major cities.

Yes, you can definitely appear for IPS since you are a graduate. Minimum qualification for CS is bachelor's degree in any discipline. So, please start preparing and do well in the exam.

ya sure you can appear for the IPS exam becuase the eligibility criteria of IPS said that only the degree from the rcognized university is applicable for the exam it does'nt matter which degree..............so you can give the exam............

Having completed B.A Economics Honors you are eligible for the IPS exam as the minimum qualification is a degree.

->The candidate must be a citizen of India.

->the candidate must have a age limit of 21-30 years.

->For SC/ST -35 years.
For OBC - 33.
For Ex-service men it is 5 years.

Yes sure, To become an IPS officer you must clear an exam conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission). For applying that exam you must have completed your graduation in a recognized university and your age must be between 21 and 30 yrs. As you have completed your degree you must have satisfied both the eligibility and so you can appear for IPS exam.

Dear friend, since you have completed your B.A. you are eligible to appear in the IPS exam. The exam for IPS is conducted by UPSC. There is no other exam for it different from IAS. It has the same exam as for IAS and the same selection procedure. The only thing differs by the result of IAS exam is the post you get which sometimes due to your low rank or your choice.

To join IPS you need to give exam for IAS for which you need to be a graduate at least holding a degree in any field from some recognized institute or university.

This exam consists of three parts:

1. Preliminary exam

2. Mains exam

3. Interview

You are eligible only if your age is in between 21-30 years if you are in general or OBC category. If you are in SC/ST category then you are eligible to give exam till the age of 35 years.

General category have attempts limited to 4, OBC has 7 attempts while SC/ST have no limits on the attempts available.

hi,This exam is conducted by upsc. For IPS exam your are eligible .The qulific is a degree frm a univeristy .for this the age limit is 21-30 years for OC candiadt the age limit is 21-3o years only 4 attempts,if you are having reservation ,for OBC-7 Times they can attempt the age limit is 33 years, for SC/ST they can attempt many times the age limit for them is upto 35 years. Yes you can apply for the IPS after doing B.A Economics Honors as you must have a degree from a recognzied university.

The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for the exam.

While applying for the exam you must have a age limit of 21-30 years.
