You apply after graduation you give UPSC exam with 60 % any reconiged university and age limit 21 to 30 years.You must be indian.You give this exam 4 times in whole life and relaxation OBC -3 years ,SC -5years and HC -10years. The Examination is conducted by UPSC IAS ANS IPS exam . The examination is divided into three levels namely , Preliminary Examination , Main Examination and interview. Preparation of IPS Entrance Exam This exam is very tough : - You need to know the current news and other happenings of the Indian economy. - You can practice previous question papers. - Reading English newspaper daily updates........... Best books for preparation are: - Indian Polity - Constitution of India by Bakshi - Indian Economy - Plus One, Plus Two Books, Pratiyogita Darpan - General Science - Tata Mc Graw Hill Guide - Mental Ability - Quantitative Apitude by R.S. ![]() IPS(Indian Police Service) exams are conducted by UPSC every year. To become IPS officer you need to complete your complete Graduation from a recognized university. Minimum qualification required to appear for IPS exams is Graduation from a recognized university. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IPS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Number of Attempts: Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.
