hello sir,
I am b tech in electronic communication student but i am interesting doing m tech in civil engineering.can i do or not

No, you cannt because Mtech is a specialisation course in your feild of study.
Since you have completed your graduation in electrical, then how can you do specialisation in civil engineering. You can do Mtech in electrical only.

Firstly the main thing that u must have in order to do masters in civil engineering in Civil engineering is that you must have studied atleast two semesters of civil engineering basic courses like strength of materials,basic civil engineering,applied mechanics.If you have done any of that in minimum of 2 semesters then you are eligible to apply for the masters no matter what your branch was in your Bachelor's degree.

So if you are really interested in doing so go for it .because its not easy to do that..

you can do but it will be not easy for you because changing the conditions for electronics to civil is a tough task and you also dont know about anything of civil engineering because you had done btech in ece and in mtech they do not guide you from the starting level they will start from where you are ended in the btech.....

so its really a tough task .....so ask to again before taking any decision...........

Most of the colleges accept B.tech with civil for M.tech in civil or related branches in civil but i think if you score a good rank and marks then with this you can request them and convince them about your request....

sorry to say but you are not eligible for M.tech in civil engineering, the eligibility criteria is to complete B.tech from civil engg. or any of its related branches. but ECE is also very good branch and you have a lot of opportunitie in that field so instead of getting disheartened about what opprtunity you dn't have, think about the opportunities which are avalable for you

if you do B.TECH in Electronics then
how you do M.TECH in Civil.
this is impossible because
what branch you do B.TECH on the same branch or related branch you
able to do M.TECH.
not to do what your wish.

So if you do M.TECH then you do only Electronics branch or related to this branch.

For entry in M.TECH you give the entrance exam
like- GATE
if you qualify to get good score in GATE
then you able to admission in IIT
or NIT college.
all over INDIA all the college will accepted the GATE score if you
qualify in GATE exam.

Dear friend,

Yes, you can do M. Tech. in Civil engg. after doing B. Tech. in ECE. For this you will have to give GATE exam in Civil Engg. You will be given a GATE score card which remains valid for 2 years. Depending upon your GATE score you will get the institute and subject.

You will have to study civil engg syllabus of GATE.

Can I do M.TEch in Civil engineering after my B.E in Mechanical Engineering. If so, Whether i have to take GATE in Civil or in Mechanical?

can i do ms in civil ? i am doing btech in ece. i have heard abroad they don,t ask for a civil undergraduate degree...

dear friend,
After completion of B.tech in electronics and communication you want to go for M.tech course in civil engineering..

For that you have to appear in GATE exam.. After qualifying in GATE exam you will be able to take admission in M.tech course depending on your GATE score.

But as you want to do M.tech course in civil engineering then you have to sit in GATE exam on the syllabus of civil engineering..

So, if you agree with that then you can apply for the exam..
It will be difficult for you to qualify in GATE exam in civil engineering syllabus, because you don't have vast knowledge in that field.

So, I will suggest you to go for M.tech in ECE stream..
You will have lots of job opportunities after completion of M.tech in ECE stream with better salary package and better salary.

Iam Junior Engineer in central govt. Iam completed my diploma in the stream of civil engg and Btech in the stream of computer science and information technology, and iam now doing AMIE in civil engg(Sec 'B' 04 subjects completed in winter 12 exams). Now i want to do Mtech in the stream of Water and Enviromental technology or Remote Sening & GIS or Enviornmental mgmt. In these three which one is best for me, pls guide me.

I have completed My Diploma in Engineering on Civil Engineering department. But unfortunately I have completed my B-Tech in Computer science & engineering department. Now I am working in building design at design company from last 7 years. Now I want to go for higher study for M-Tech or others in any design subject in civil department. So what can I do right now? You are not allowed to do M.Tech in Civil Engineering after completing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering as per rules set by GATE committee.

After completing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering you can do M.Tech in below streams only.

1. Electronics and Communication Engineering.

2. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

3. Integrated Circuit Engineering.

4. Radio Wave Engineering.

5. Power Engineering.

Sir, actually I'm a Electronic student but interested in designing and construction fields. But how to get a 2- semesters certificates. It is possible some one told it is possible but minimum you have 2 semester certificates ?
