Admission in any of the BITS college is done on the following basis: 1.On the basis of the score obtained in BITSAT. 2.Direct admission to board toppers(not necessary to give BITSAT) Since you have topped in your state board examination, you are eligible for "direct admission to board topper" scheme under the admission draft of BITS. You may get additional information from : http://www.bitsadmission.com/ Good luck |

Re: Can I get direct admission in BITS Pilani or BITS Hyderabad after scoring 968 marks in board exam without writing BITSAT exam?
Dear Aspirant,
This is to bring to your kind notice that direct admission in any of the branches of BITS is only possible if you're a board topper of your state or any one of the 25 states that are approved by the education ministry. There is no alternate way of getting direct admission in BITS. The other way of gaining amission in BITS Pilani and other branches of BITS is to give their entrance exam and clear it. The name of the exam is BITSAT and is held every year. You must aim for around 300 marks in that exam to ensure a seat in BITS as there is a tough competition and only about 1 in 68 students gets the chance of gaining admission in the prestigeous BITS. Thank You. |

Re: Can I get direct admission in BITS Pilani or BITS Hyderabad after scoring 968 marks in board exam without writing BITSAT exam?
Quote:
Admission in BITS Pilani and its branches in Goa and Hyderabad is done through a centralized exam all over India called the BITSAT.BITSAT is the most competitive exam in India(as per a report by The times of India), only one candidate out of 68 manages to get a seat in BITS. One has to clear this exam in order to be eligible for admission in BITS. However, BITS also offers direct admission under a scheme called "Direct admission to Board toppers" under which the Board toppers of all recognized boards can apply for direct admission in BITS. So the only way to get direct admission in BITS is to be a board topper in your +2 exam. There is no reservation of seats whatsoever to get direct admission. So focus hard on your board exam preparation if you want to skip giving the highly competitive BITSAT exam. Good luck |

Re: Can I get direct admission in BITS Pilani or BITS Hyderabad after scoring 968 marks in board exam without writing BITSAT exam?
Quote:
BITSAT is a computer based online test for admission to all the undergraduate degree programmes of BITS, Pilani at Pilani Campus, Goa and Hyderabad Campus. The exam is held usually in the month of may-june. The exam is held over a period of 25-30 days every year. BITSAT will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). The test consists of four parts:
All questions are of objective type, each question with choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1mark). No marks are awarded for questions not attempted. While you can skip a question, the computer will not allow you to choose more than one option as correct answer. There will be 150 questions in all. Physics and Chemistry have 40 questions each whereas English and Logical reasoning combined have 25 questions and maths has 45 questions. There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. You can go back and change any of your answers among the 150 questions. The test is of 450 marks It is assumed that the student has the knowledge of the computer to operate the basics while answering the questions. The questions are so designed that a good student will be able to answer 150 questions in 180 minutes. The extra questions (a maximum of 12) will give a chance to highly meritorious candidates to score higher. However, candidates should keep in mind the fact that there is negative marking for wrong answers and any attempt to answer the questions by pure guessing of the answers is not likely to have any advantage, but may result in a reduction in the total score. The questions will be selected at random from a large question bank. Different candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc. The paper and instructions will be in English only. The portion of the exam is similar to the class 11 and 12 NCERT syllabus. You must prepare well for this exam as it is highly competitive. You also must refer to Arihant's reference book for the exam as that one book is enough for your preparation and practice. I hope i have answered all your queries about the exam. If not, you can reply to this post. Good luck! |

The BITS Hyderabad campus is the smallest in comparison to the Pilani and Goa campus, even though it is the newest among all three. It has most of the facilities which other BITS campus' have. The faculty is decently good, again not comparable to the other two branches. All this affects the ranking of the college and there is no mention of this college among the best colleges as of now but it will take time for the college to establish itself and maybe with more time it will make its way up, its too early to say anything. But having said that, it is still a better option than most local colleges. Good luck! |
