i am in b tech first year. can i give b tech leet exam to get admission in second year.

LEET is the entrance exam for candidates who wish to get lateral entry in the Engineering colleges. Now I can't say if you can give LEET exam or not, because you have not mentioned any information about your course.

Lateral Entry Scheme is basically for the candidates who have completed either diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. Through this scheme,diploma candidates and B.Sc candidates can get direct admission for Engineering course for second year. What Kind of stream you can apply in Engineering depends of the subject in which you completed B.Sc or diploma.

This scheme was started to give diploma and B.Sc students a better career option. Since they won't be eligible to appear in entrance exams like IIT-JEE or AIEEE, lateral entry scheme is the best option for them.

There are two ways for lateral entry. Several colleges would give you direct admission based on your performance in diploma or B.Sc course. Every engineering university in India reserve some seats for the lateral entry. They will either offer direct admission or via LEET entrance exam.


Lateral Entry Eligibility

LEET is one of the several entrance exams conducted by the colleges in India for lateral entry. Some colleges conduct their own exam for entry into second year of B.Tech course.

In most cases you should meet the following requirement.

~~ Your age should not be more than 28 years.

~~ You must complete diploma course with at least 60 percent marks. However some colleges would even give admission on 50 percent marks.

~~ Same story for B.Sc candidates. They should also score at least 60 percent marks while some colleges may offer admission on 50 percent marks.

i m persuing btech 1st yr from iec college of engerieng...can i get lateral entry in 2nd year in other colleges in india...i dont have any other qualification like diploma or bsc degree...

I think you are a bit confused.Since you are a B.tech first year students ,Why do you need to give LEET examinations?

Let me clear your confusion, LEET stands for the Lateral entry entrance test.This examination if conducted for the diploma holder who wish to get admission in second year of bachelor of technology.


Eligibility criteria:

~~you must have done your diploma from a recognised college with at least 60 % of marks.However % may be 50 for some low ranked college

~~Your age must not be more than 28 years.

Selection depends upon your performance in entrance test.However some college may give you direct admission on the basis of diploma marks.

So,donot worry about these examination,clear your 1st year of b.tech with good marks ,you will be promoted to second year.

Since, you are already doing B.Tech, then why do you want lateral entry to second year.

LEET is for diploma holder , to get admission to second year of B.Tech.

This process is called Lateral entry.

Eligibility for LEET –
