After completion of your B.Tech program and being an engineer, you may join Indian Army through the following ways:

1. You may write Combined Defense Service Exam conducted by the UPSC.
The minimum eligible age is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 24 years.

2. You may join Indian Army directly as an commissioned officer. The minimum eligible age is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years.

3. You may join Indian Army through university direct entry scheme. Through this scheme, candidates are selected for interview/SSB for recruitment in the technical branches of Indian Army.
The minimum eligible age is 19 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years.

After B.Tech., you can join Indian Army through following entry schemes.

Combined Defence Service Examination.
This exam is conducted by UPSC for admission to Indian Military Academy,
Airforce Academy, Naval Academy and Officers Training Academy.
You will have to opt IMA at the time of application to go in Indian Army.

2. Should have completed one year rotatory internship recognised by the Dental Council of India on the date of application.

4. Less than 45 years of age as on 31 Dec of the year of application.
5. Should be medically fit in all respects for service in the Defence Forces.

Note:

Three chances are given to serving SSC officers for grant of Departmental Permanent Commission.

How to Apply for Indian Army

In order to apply for the Indian Army..you need to apply for the CDS (Combined Defense Service) Exam

The minimum qualifications required to appear for the CDS exam are :-

1) You should be a graduate from any stream

2) You should be in the age limit of 19-23 years to join the IMA (Indian Military Academy)

Apart from these..you should be physically fit and should have a perfect eyesight..

Exam Pattern :-

After Completing your B.tech course you may Join in Indian Army Academy through CDS (Combined Defence Service)

CDS stands for (Combined Defence Service) and this Examination Conducted by Union Public Service Commission . This Examination is held every twice in a year .

Eligibility Criteria for CDS Examination :- ( Army Academy )
