Can I join NCC while being in 3rd of B.Tech?


I want to join in NCC but, I am a 3rd year B.Tech student and my friends are saying it it is impossible to join in NCC. Is it so? Can't I join NCC as a private candidate at this stage?

The age limit to join NCC for juniors it is 13 to 18.5 years and for seniors it is upto 25years.
