Hi, I am presently doing my class 12th from Commerce stream and will be writing my 12th Board exams in 2020. I want to do BE Aeronautics. So, what should do for this? Is there any possibility to do a degree course in Aeronautics? What about Diploma in Aeronautics if not BE?

The eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautics:

1. You must have passed 12th from a recognized board in science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Commerce stream candidates are not eligible for engineering courses.

2. On basis of your 10th qualification, you can apply for Diploma in Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering.

To get admission in B.E course in Aeronautics the required eligibility is that candidate must have passed std 12th in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main paper.

The admission in the course is conducted on the basis of entrance examination conducted by different institutions or on the basis of common entrance examination.

For admission in diploma course, the required educational qualification is that candidate must have passed 10th from a recognised board.

No, it is not possible for you join Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Engineering course in Aeronautics or any other discipline having completed your Class 12th in Commerce stream as the minimum education required for pursuing Diploma or degree course in engineering in any discipline is Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects from a recognised board.

So, in order to pursue above said courses, you need to reappear in your Class 12th once again but with PCM combination.

You are not eligible to get admission in B.E Aeronautics course.

Candidate who has passed 10th board exams can apply for Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.

The requirements for Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautics Engineering:

Academic qualification: 12th passed from a recognized board with PCM subjects.

Commerce stream candidates are not eligible for engineering course. You can apply for Diploma in Engineering based on 10th qualification.

In order to pursue BE in Aeronautics, the candidate should have completed 10 + 2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics from a recognised board with at least 60% marks.

You have no scope to pursue B.E (Aeronautics) based on your 12th commerce result. You can apply for diploma in aeronautics based on your 10th class result. After completion of your diploma in aeronautics, you will become eligible to apply for B.E.(Aeronautics).

B.E.(Aeronautics) Eligibility
You must have passed (10+2) in science stream with PCM subjects with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
OR
You must have passed diploma in aeronautics from a recognized university.

Commerce stream candidates are not eligible for Bachelor of Engineering course.

Only science stream candidates with PCM subjects and secured minimum of 50% marks in 12th can apply for engineering course.

You can apply Diploma in Engineering courses.

No, you are not eligible to study BSc in aeronautics course after completion of your 12th standard with commerce stream from a recognised board.
To be eligible to study in this course you should have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination with PCM stream from a recognised board.

No, you cannot pursue B.Tech/B.E. in Aeronautics because you are from Commerce stream. Notably for pursuing this course, you must have completed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics having at least 70% marks.

If you are looking for doing Diploma in Aeronautics then you should have studied 10th with Science and Mathematics having at least 50% marks. But in this case, your 11th and 12th standard marksheets will be of no use.
