sir... i m student of I.T branch of last year n i m preparing for drdo exams..can i apply for these exams? i eagerly want to b a part of drdo... n answer of this question is very much necessary for me... kindly give reply. n also suggest some books for it.... i vil b very thankful to you....

there is no branch for It but u can give the xam as computer enginner.
u hav to study some of thre subjects. and urs CGP should be 6.75 on 10 scale or 60%..

Actually friend there never be a vacancy in IT branch. DRDO recruits only from CSE, ECE, Chemistry, Mech, Electrical branch engineers. However I even dont know that whether you can apply for CSE vacancy or not. But as per regulation , you are not eligible for DRDO SET exam. Rest of the things depend upon the vacancy in IT branch.

But the eligibility for DRDO exam is:
the student must have 60% or 6.75(0n 10 point Grade scale).and also the final year student can apply for it.You must provide your result after announced.

There is no way for IT students because CH, CE, ECE, ME, EE are eligible from engineering stream. But there is a possible way to attend the DRDO exams for IT students.
First you must know the eligibility criteria given by the DRDO.

- Maximum age of 28 years
- bachelor degree in engineering/technology
- Marks after completion of your B.Tech must be of 60% 0r 6.75 CGPA


In DRDO exam there will be 400 marks questions based on your subject knowledge of respective branch and there will be 100 marks based on the aptitude.


So your subjects are the best books for the preparation and aptitude is one another which differs the candidates marks. You will find the model paper books from internet and book shops.

Yes, IT students can apply for DRDO exams but in CS stream.

MSc IT students can also apply.
At least first class Master’s Degree in Science Subjects or at least first class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognised University or equivalent.

Yes you can apply for the exams. You will come under the computer science category. The brochure contains this information and the details of the syllabus. The exam will deal with subject you have studied. You can practise with the help of sample question papers that you find on the net.

DRDO recruits only from ece,cse,civil,mech but not for IT . So sorry you cannot go for it.

sorry friend but IT students are not allowed for DRDO. students of branches CSE, MECH., ELECTRICAL e.t.c are allowed .before that you need a minimum of sgpa 6.5 or 60%.

IT department won't come under the Recruitment but you can apply for CSC and go through it, but at some point of condition they well send a notice that only CSC can apply, that time you can't apply for that, hope for best. this year they din't conduct for SEP 1 , every year exam will be conducted in SEP 1

*mostly next year they will take more members i think so, don't worry buddy you have a good chance .

go through the book like RK publication and PSU book by AIMTY

hello....i just want to know that what are the levels at which CS engineers can apply....what are SET-A and SET-B?

I have done my BSc in Biotechnology and MSc in Biochemistry and I have applied for DRDO ceptam 04- For the Senior Technical Assisitant- 'B' post. But in the eligibility criteria they have mentioned like students possessing higher qualification like MSc would not be considered for the post of STA- B post.

Now shall I attend the exam or not. Or would they consider only my BSc qualification for the exam.

Please reply asap.

Drdo is not for the IT student but gov. has provide an act for that this year may be IT people can apply for that ..
the syllabus of this exam may be decided by the managment of conducting this exam .

I am doing my graduation in branch Instrumentation and Control so it contains the subjects of electrical electronics and instrumentation ... so am i applicable for drdo as it is not mentioned in the branches that are eligible for drdo
