Re: Can I write IES exam after passing B.E Aeronautical Engineering?
Engineering Services Exam is conducted by UPSC and only four disciplines are eligible to apply for this exam.
-Civil Engineering -Mechanical Engineering -Electrical Engineering -Electronics and Communication Engineering As you have done Aeronautical Engineering means you are not eligible to apply for IES examination. Hence you have to try for other options in private sectors. The selection is based on the written examination and personal interview. The questions in the written examination will be based on the subjects related to your Engineering Graduation. So you have to be very well prepared for the examination to get selected. The number of attempts for this exam is limited for General and OBC category with 4 and 7 attempts respectively. For SC/ST category there is not limit in attempts.
