Re: Can a PCMB student write NEET exam?
Yes, NEET is conducted for the selection of MBBS and BDS programs. For admission to all other courses, you need to qualify entrance exams. For engineering, you should apply for entrance test like AIEEE or IIT JEE (mains and advanced). One can also apply for state level entrance exams for selection. Marks obtained in these entrance exams determine the selection of candidate to higher education programs.

Re: Can a PCMB student write NEET exam?
You have heard it absolutely right. If you want to apply for the MBBS or the BDS course then it is mandatory to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.
Earlier AIPMT exam was conducted for the 15 percent seats reserved under the All India quota. Now the AIPMT exam has been replaced with the NEET entrance exam. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test not only replaces AIPMT but all other medical entrance exams in the country. This year NEET will be conducted for the first time. The Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the entrance exam. Eligibility 1. Only Indian nationals can appear for the 15 percent All India Seats. 2. The candidate must have completed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 3. Minimum of 50 percent marks in 12th standard. 4. The minimum age limit is 17 years for NEET. 5. Upper age limit for All India Quota seats is 25 years. 6. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC. 7. There is no upper age limit if appearing for the state quota seats. Exam Date 5th May, 2013 (Sunday). Unfortunately you can not apply for this year's NEET entrance exam. You must wait till next year to appear for it. |

Re: Can a PCMB student write NEET exam?
Dear Friend,
You have heard the right thing that each n every candidate who has completed 12th with PCMB and wants to shape his/her future in Medical Stream have to write the NEET Exam. The Acronym "NEET" stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. Earlier the All India Pre Medical Test had been conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education for the admission of candidates in MBBS Course. But from 2013 , the whole Scenario has been changed and now from this year all the Medical entrance examinations including the AIPMT has been merged into a single examination which is known as the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. The Central Board of Secondary Education [CBSE] will conduct the NEET every year from this year onwards. The Eligibility Criteria for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test are : * The candidate must have passed 12th with Physics , Chemistry and Biology. * The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in 12th. * The Age Limit for the NEET for all India Quota is 17-25 years. * Relaxation of 5 years is given in upper age to Reserved Category Candidates. * There is also no age limit for the Candidates appearing for State Quota seats. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
