I am a citizen of India and stay in Assam and I just wanted to know if 10+2 pass females are eligible for applying for posts in the Indian Air Force and if so what are the procedures for applying?

Yes my dear friend you are eligible for IAF. you can apply for it in these ways.
1.NDA:as you are saying that you are 10+2 than you can join the national defence acadmy by filling up the form of the examination. the Exam held twice in a year. GOOD luck
2. NCC special women: IF you are an NCC certificate holder with B+ or higher grad than you can directly apply for SSB. than you will not have to give any written EXAM. GOOD LUCK.

today the forms for Nda_i are available at you door steps go and fill up the forum and prepeare for exam which will be held in april and last date for submission is 15 nov 2010 or fill online frm upscgov.in

there is really very few post for girls after class 12 however you can have chances when you complete your graduation.

Sorry, friend, only men can join the Air Force with an Intermediate (10+2 pass) educational qualification. Following initial selection, they are made to go through a rigorous three-year training regimen at the National Defence Academy; thereafter, the trainees are given specialised training at the Air Force Academy.

Donot give up hope. Get yourself a little more of formal education to complete your graduation and then the sky can really be your limit, for you can then join the Air Force.

The minimum educational qualification for women required to join Indian Air Force is a Bachelor's degree.According to sources, NDA is likely to take women cantidates in the upcoming years.

No, you cannot join in IAF now as females can join in IAF as an cadre officer but for doing that you have to complete your graduation first in engineering and then by Short Service Commission you can join Indian Air Force.
So now just try to complete your graduation in Aeronautical Engineering and then completing it go for IAF.

There's only one way for females and that is AFMC to join Indian Airforce after 12, for this u should have biology with physics and chemistry in 10+2, besides this sorry but u cannot join the Indian Airforce after 12 as females can join the Indian Airforce only after graduation in officer cadre through SSC i.e short service comission.

there are various scheme to join IAF for women. I am telling you all of those.

The various scheme are as follows:

JAG( Judge advocate general) - To join IAF through this scheme , you have to pass LLB.After passing, you you have to fill application form for this entry scheme.Then you will be called for direct interview.After qualifying this you have to face AFSB.

SSCW(PG) - To join IAF through this scheme , you have to pass
PG.After passing, you you have to fill application form for this entry scheme.
Then you will be called for direct interview.After qualifying this you have to face AFSB.After clearing AFSB you will become army officer.

SSCW(T): short service commission women(Tech),for this scheme , advertisement comes in weekly news paper named employment news,keep in touch with this news paper. In this, entry scheme you will be called for direct AFSB interview,after qualifying in AFSB you will be commissioned as Officer in the army.

2.SSCW(PG- post graduate):for this scheme , advertisement also
comes in weekly news paper named employment news,keep in touch with this news paper .In this entry scheme, after passing MTech you will be called for direct AFSB interview,after qualifying in AFSB you will be commissioned as Officer in the army.

See, you can not join in Indian air force after your 12th, to join in Indian air force you have to first complete your graduation..
there are some ways through which you can join in IAF..
