Re: Cbse optional subject passing criteria If anyone fails in optional subject when they have only 5 subject (including optional subject)?
According to the CBSE guidelines, a student is required to pass in at least five subjects, which includes one language, English, and three elective subjects. The passing criteria for the optional subject is the same as that of the elective subjects. Therefore, if a student fails in the optional subject and has only five subjects (including the optional subject), then they will not be considered as pass in the CBSE board exam. However, the student may be allowed to appear for compartment exams in the failed subject. The exact rules and regulations regarding compartment exams can be obtained from the official website of CBSE or the concerned school authorities.
