Re: Completed MSc IT(Distance Learning) from Karnataka State Open University : Am I eligible for NET exam?
NET exams are conducting twice a year, i.e., in the months of June and December by UGC. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are
published in the months of March and September respectively in the weekly Employment News. so you can apply for june month NET...... the eligibility criteria for NET is M.Sc or equivalent degree under the subjects mentioned above, with minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. A candidate can also apply for the Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (III/IV Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc. or equivalent degree examination in subjects mentioned in above. Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year M.SC or equivalent degree examination. However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally. They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame. |

Re: Completed MSc IT(Distance Learning) from Karnataka State Open University : Am I eligible for NET exam?
I have got the lateral entry in M.Sc(IT) from KSOU distance learning in its 3rd semseter and completed this degree with 60% marks. My qustions are :
1. I want to a regular IIT or NIT level post graduate course like M.Tech or In Petroleum Engg. Do I meet the elegibilty to apply and Is there any chance for admission there. I have done GNIIT 3 years that is why got the lateral addmission. 2. Do I need to apply to KSOU only for M.Tech or Is there any institute which provides the M.Tech regular course on this basis? 3. I am already 35 years of age and I have done basic graduation in B.Com with low grade less than 50% but I did well with GNIIT and M.Sc and I am open to spend two years for formal study. can Anyone guide me on that? |

Re: Completed MSc IT(Distance Learning) from Karnataka State Open University : Am I eligible for NET exam?
as you have completed master degree so you are eligible for NET examination.
the eligibility criterion for NET examination is you have minimum of master degree. it will not depend as you have done correspondence. only master degree is required to appear in NET exam irrespective of regular or correspondence course. but you have to fulfill other eligibility criterion also. like you should have minimum of 60% marks if you belongs to general candidate. for SC ST 5% marks relaxation is there. also you have to fulfill age eligibility criterion. |
