Is it compulsory to practice as an Advocate for becoming a Judicial Magistrate?

I have completed BA LLB and wants to be a Judicial Magistrate. However, I wanted to confirm that is it compulsory to practice as an Advocate to be eligible for becoming a Magistrate?

Judge is the highest and the most respected position in the legal/Judicial system of India. The necessary qualification to become a Judicial Magistrate is minimum five to seven years of practice as an advocate or as a pleader.

So, yes you need to practice as an advocate and then only you will be eligible to become a Judicial Magistrate.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
