I want to become an IPS Officer. So, I would like to know that which course I should do to achieve my aim? Kindly tell me about the courses.

I.P.S is Indian Police Service and for recruitment as an I.P.S Officer you have to qualify in Civil Service examination conducted by UPSC.

The examination is conducted every year. The eligibility to appear for examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

The age limit to appear for examination is 21-32 years.

The three stages of examination are :

Preliminary.

Mains.

Interview.

To become IPS Officer you need to meet few eligibility requirements which are mentioned below:

- The candidate should be citizen of India.
- The educational qualification required is any bachelors level degree or its equivalent education in any stream from any recognised university.
- The age should be between 21 - 32 years.
- There is 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.
- There is 7 maximum attempts for general candidates, 9 maximum attempts for OBC & OBC Physically handicapped candidates and no limit for SC/ ST & physically handicapped SC/ ST candidates.
- The height should be 165 Cms for men and 150 Cms for women.

Based on the eligibility requirements the educational qualification required is any bachelors degree. So, you can study any bachelors or graduation level degree in any stream from any recognised university.
