hiii
welcome to forum and the interest to know about the future options which you're going to have is really appreciable and now you're in second year ECE don't forget to be very serious in your subject because electronics is a subject which you have to concentrate a lot and the course which you re studying has a lot of scope and after this b.tech 4 years you have two options openly one is further studies in india and the other is further studies in other countries and now for time being suppose that you are pursuing your further studies in our country only then you have to aim to top universitys of india those are nothing but iits ,iiscs and nit's these colleges you can get by the gate way i,e, GATE every conducted by anyone of the iit's of the country and if you're opting for other country's masters then you have to give your GRE exam with lot of bugs if you're financially sound then no problem if not then i strongly recomend you to stick with indian versities which are also providing a high class teaching facilty all the best ~aditya~ |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
hi well i think you should go for m.tech after completion of your present course as it is related to your course...if you take that course you wont find much difficulties and will be well versed as you have already learned it in your B.E/B.TECH...so i advise you to choose those kinds of course with which you have some ideas and know something about it...and when it comes to entrance exams, some good colleges will ask you to present CAT or GATE certificate will some wont....it depends upon the college you choose...so to be in safer side you try preparing for it...
best of luck |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
There are various courses which you can opt for after completing your B.tech.
You can go through the GATE examination through which you can pursue m.tech course.Since your an ECE student hence its better that you choose any of the following streams based on the present demand. The courses are:- Power Electronics,VLSI,Control Systems,Electronics Instrumentation,Microwave & Radar,Systems & Controls,Embedded Systems There are many more courses but i have only mentioned a few of them according to the present demand. For MBA you need to go through exams like CAT/MAT to get into IIM's and top B-schools of your country. But you need to focus on the syllabus to score well in CAT/MAT.You can even opt for GRE TOEFL to study in top Institutes round the globe. |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
hello friend
see, if you get interest to work with your engineering field then you must do mtech. specially if you want to do research oriented jobs, then MTech is compulsory. but after learning btech if you are not interested to work in your engineering field, then it is essential to do MBA. but one things you should remember, for getting promotion in company, MBA is essentially required. all the best........ |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
dear friend,
you are doing B.tech now, after completion of your B.tech degree you can go for courses like- M.tech For this you have to appear in GATE which is conducted by IIT's.. you have to score well in GATE if you want to take admission in IIT for M.tech.. after doing M.tech you can get a good job or you can go for further study like research.. MBA if you have interest in management field then you can go for MBA... for this you have to appear in entrance exams like CAT,XAT,MAT etc.. after clearing the exam they will call you for interview.. to get admission in MBA you have to crack the interview.. After doing MBA you can get a high salary job.. After completion of your B.tech if you get a job then you go for that rather than going for higher study.. now , you decide what you will do.. All the best.. |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
Hi,
After btech you have mnay chances to go it depends on your interest. For ECE you can many job offers in every sector such as private, govt and communucation sectors. If your are interested to go with the private IT sector companies better you go with the languages java,.net.....etc If you are interested in govt sector then go with GATE coaching to get job in ISRO,DRDo....etc If possible rather than above it is better to continue with your further studies preferring MBA,MTech,MCA... To go with MBA/MCA better to take CAT coaching and for Mtech you can go with GATE coaching. If you are interested in teaching fields then after mtech you go with phd. All the very best to your future. |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
If you want to go IT sector, then Mtech or MCA would be better, but i would still say go for Mtech, as MCA suits better for BCA graduates. There are lot of specialization branches in IT, which you can choose as per your btech course. You can apply for GATE exam for Mtech or you can also apply in BITS or VIT.

As you are going to be ECE er. so opportunities are more 1.You can prepare for IES exam which will lead you to job in railway or public sector company. 2.Merchant navy- marine engineering. 3.M.E.-Master in Engineering (you can get job as an engineer with higher package than that of BTech or you can get job as an lecturer too). 4.If you are interested in civil services then prepare for UPSC exam to become IAS/IPS officer. 5.You can get direct entry in defence after Btech- in navy or air force. 6.you can also do M.S.from foreign uni or M.tech from IITs or other top colleges or uni of India. 7.if you are interested in management then go with MBA after Btech. So choose as per your area of interest. |

Re: Which courses to opt after B.Tech?
There are 2 prominent streams that you can choose. One of them is M.Tech and the other is MBA.
You shall opt for an MBA if you want an office job i.e desk job and want to be exposed more towards the commercial side of any business. However if you are interested in ECE subjects then you must go for an M.Tech which will give you more knowledge about the same. This path will lead you to getting a manufacturing job at first. |
