Respected Sir, currently I'm pursuing my Engineering degree course from Anna University. After this I would like to join Officers Training Academy, Chennai (OTA). So, could you please tell me about the eligibility criteria and application procedure?

You can appear for CDS examination and qualify in both written and SSB for final selection.

The examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted twice in a year.

The written paper consists of two paper for OTA which are :- General Studies and English.

OTA stands for Officer's Training Academy and joining the same, you are required to qualify CDS ( Combined Defense Services) examination held by UPSC twice every year.

The minimum eligibility criteria required for appearing in the CDS entrance examination to join OTA are as below :-

* You must be an Indian citizen.

* Your age must lie within 19 years to 25 years.

* You must have completed your bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognized university.

* You must hold the physical fitness as per the service requirement norms.

So, being a student of degree in engineering, you will be eligible to apply for OTA after completion of your degree course provided you satisfy all its criteria.

To join OTA, you have to appear and qualify in CDS examination which is conducted twice in a year.

The examination is conducted for recruitment in various defence services. The minimum required qualification is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree. The required stream in bachelor degree varies with various wing of defence service.

So, after completing your graduation in engineering, you are eligible to join OTA provided you satisfy other eligibility conditions too.
