Distance LLB helps in becoming a Civil Judge or Megistrate?
Hi, I am an experienced software professional and having B.Tech qualification. I am interested in LLB from Distance Learning. Whether completing LLB from distance helps in becoming eligible for Civil Judge or Magistrate exam ?

Actually, Distance LLB degree course is of no use and it has no value because it is not recognised law council of India.
You cannot apply for any job related to your LLB degree because distance education in LLB is not recognised in India and you will be given no importance. |

LLB from Distance learning is not eligible to practice as a lawyer as per the rules set by Bar Council of India. In the same way LLB from distance learning not eligible for Civil Judge or magistrate exam as per rules set by Bar Council of India

No. As per Bar Council of India, You are not eligible to practice in court after completion of LLB from distance mode. You are eligible for LLB through distance mode after your B.Tech, but you can work only as a Legal Expert, Legal Adviser or Law Teacher. If you want to pursue CS course with LLB through distance mode, then you will get extra expertise knowledge in the field of law. In India, Many universities offer the LLB through distance mode. Some of well reputed university also conduct entrance exam for admission.

It's clearly mentioned on UPPSC website that a law degree from any recognised university is eligible,hence degree from IGNOU or any other recognised university is valid.
And I believe that bar council doesn't governs UPPSC in their selection procedure. Bar council is governing body for lawyers and not judges through PCS J |
