Dear friends, I am studying in 11th standard with PCB stream. I want to apply for NDA. But I have heard that only PCM students are eligible to apply for NDA. I want to know about my eligibility to apply for NDA. Kindly tell me immediately.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy .
The exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice every year.

Eligibility criteria for exam -

1.Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.
2.Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
3.Candidate should have passed 10+2 with Physics ,Chemistry ,Mathematics as main subject and have minimum 60 percent in 10th.
4.Candidate should be mentally and physically fit.

NDA refers to National Defense Academy and to join the same a candidate is required to qualify the NDA entrance examination held by UPSC twice every year.

Further, the minimum education required for appearing in the NDA entrance examination is a higher secondary school degree in any discipline from a recognized board of education. But, in case of joining Indian Navy or Indian Air force wings of NDA, one is required to have studied Mathematics and Physics at his Class 12th level academics.

So, being a student of Class 11th with PCB stream, you still will be eligible to apply for NDA entrance examination to join its Indian Army wing after completion of your Class 12th.

The Army wing of NDA:
Passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board

The Air Force and Naval wings of NDA and 10+2 Cadet entry scheme at INA:
Passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics

NDA Eligibility Criteria: Marital Status
Only unmarried male candidates can apply for the exam. Candidates should undertake not to marry until they complete their training.

Age limit=16.5-19.5 years

NDA Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

For The Army wing of NDA=Passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board

The Air Force and Naval wings of NDA and 10+2 Cadet entry scheme at INA=Passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics

••Candidates who are appearing in Class 12 or equivalent examination can apply.
••Candidates appearing in Class 11 exam are not eligible.


•••• So, a student having PCB subjects is eligible for nda but for army wing only.
