I am an engineering student. I got 80% in Madhyamik exam and 62% in HS exam. So am I eligible to join Indian Army as a Jawan?

I want to tell you that every member of military or paramilitary is known as JAWAN, it doesn't matter that on which post he is serving in the military. I think you want to join army as a soldier to serve the nation. You needs to be physically and medically fit in all respects to join the army. If you are below 21 year of age then you can apply for soldier recruitment, the minimun qualification reguired is matric and if you are below 19.6 year then you can apply for nda examination conducted by upsc twicely every year. yes you are eligible as for ARMY officer you need to have a engineer pass student that you are so no need to worry and the minimum height is 157cm for boys..prepare well and apply for army..
The notification will come in employment newspaper..

yea you are eligible according to your marks. but you have to be medically fit to enter into indian army and also you have to fulfill eligibility criterion and others criterion like nationality etc.


after H.S you may enter into indian army in two ways. here i am giving the details of the two schemes.

Tech Entry Scheme(TES)

Month of Commencement of Course each year - January and July

Age at the time of joining - 16 and 1/2 to 19 and 1/2 years

Educational Qualification - 10+2 Pass with 70% aggregate in PCM.

How to Apply - Apply directly to the Recruitment Directorate in response to advertisement in May and November

National Defence Academy(NDA):-

Month of Commencement of Course each year - January and July

Age at the time of joining - 16 and 1/2 to 19 years

Educational Qualification - Class 12 of the 10+2 system of education or equivalent

Mode of selection - NDA exam by UPSC and SSB interview

How to Apply - Apply in response to advertisement in March/April & Oct./Nov.

Hey instead of entry as jawan you can enter as an officer as your from B.Tech background you can go for the CDS exam if you have 60 % in your B.Tech.

You can even apply for the SSB board which is of 14 years service.The notifications are published in employeement news and The Hindu.
