Sir/Madam, I have done BCom and then MBA course. Now, I am 32 years of age and I want to get job as a Bank PO. I would like to know that with this age, I am eligible to secure job as a PO in any Bank? Kindly tell me immediately!

PO stands for Probationary Officer. For recruitment candidates have to appear and qualify in the IBPS or SBI examination.

But you have crossed the maximum age limit criteria for general category candidates.

You are only eligible to appear in the examination if you belong to the reserved category - OBC/SC/ST/PH etc.

Examination is conducted in various stages and candidates have to qualify in all stages for final selection.

The full form of IBPS is Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection.

1. IBPS conducts Common Written Examination for clerk and Probationary officer. The age criteria for Clerk is 20-28 years and for PO is 20-30 years.

2. There is three years upper age relaxation to OBC and five years to SC/ST candidates.

You can apply for PO exam only if you belong to reserved category candidates.

So, being a MBA degree holder but 32 years old, you are eligible to apply for bank PO only if you belong to reserved category as the maximum age limit for general category candidates is only 30 years.

Also, for your recruitment as a bank PO in nationalized banks, you need to qualify entrance examinations like SBI bank PO examinations or IBPS bank PO examinations.

The age limit for general category candidates in case of Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection Common Written exam for:

1. Clerk is 20-28 years.

2. Probationary officer is 20-30 years.

There is three years upper age relaxation for OBC and five years for SC/ST candidates.

At 32 years of age, you can apply only if you belong to OBC or SC/ST category.

Let me tell you that if you are from general category then you are not eligible to write Bank PO examination.
But for OBC age criteria should be upto 32 years and for SC/ST t is upto 35 years.
You will be only eligible if you are from SC/ST criteria.

Entrance examination is conducted by IBPS, SBI for recruitment in nationalised bank.

PO is Probationary Officer. The maximum age limit for appearing in PO is 30 years. So, candidates with general category are not eligible to appear in examination after that but there is relaxation for reserved category.

So, if you belong to reserved category then you can appear for the examination.

If you belongs to OBC or SC/ST caste, then you are eligible to apply for Bank PO exams with the age 32. If you belongs to General Category, You are not eligible to apply for Bank PO exams.

If you belong to general category then you are not eligible to appear for PO recruitment examination.

The minimum required eligibility is bachelor degree from a recognised university as well as age limit is 20-30 years with relaxation in upper age limit.
