Engineering Services exam age relaxation?


I works in BSNL as a TTA since 2002 and belonging gen category.I will 34 years old on august 2011 (which is the reference date for age in ES2011). Can i get goverment servant age relaxation for ES 2011 exam?

Threr is no such relaxation ... age limit is 21-30 yrs and 5 yr relaxation of 5 yrs for SC/ST

for appearing in an IES exam ,your age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are a general candidate.
there is a 5 years relaxation for sc/st candidate , 3 years relaxation for obc and maximum 10 years relaxation for physically challanged peoples.

1. upto 30 years for General candidates.

2. upto 35 years for OBC Candidates

3. upto 40 years for SC / ST Candidates.

As i know there is normal age limit for applying for Engineering Services exam is from 21 years to 30 years .and age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years.

I think you will not get any relaxation for this exam,relaxation is only given for PH,SC,ST,OBC,Ex-Defence or widows of defence,domicile of J & K etc category people.No relaxation available to general category or normal job holders.

YES,There is relaxation provided since you work for the Department of Telecommunication i.e BSNL.A relaxation period of 5 years is provided for you as your a Government Employee.

So,you have got only 1 year to go though this examination.Better utilize the last chance of going through this examination.After turning 35,you cant give the examination.
According to me,you have got less chance to go though the exam because you need to submit the details(certificates) showing DOB if at all your qualified in the examination.

Here are some detail information about the exam so read these details once

Post Name :
  • JTO (Junior Telecom Officers):
  • BSNL JTO Telecom,
  • BSNL JTO Civil,
  • BSNL JTO Electrical,

Eligibility for Entrance Examination:
Nationality: Only Indian citizens would be eligible to apply.

Qualifications:
Subject For BSNL JTO Telecom:

Age Limits :

Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years for General

and 5 year relaxation for OBC

I am a aspirant of IES, and my date of birth is 15th aug, 1990, and now i am b.e 3rd yr mechanical engineering in osmania university. But the notification has given that the student eligible for writing IES should complete 21 years on or before 1st aug,2011, but the age relaxations as per gov rules is given that for OBC 3 yrs.Am i eligible for writing IES, awaiting your reply.

Hello Friend,
The eligibility of IES Exam is:
A degree in Engineering
Age Limit is 21 to 30 years.
The minimum age age for writing IES Exam is 21 years for all category of candidates.
The relaxation is given only to the upper age for the examination.
To write the exam you must be minimum 21 years whether you belong to general, OBC or SC/ST category.
Only upper age is relaxed for the OBC and SC/ST candidates.
So according to that you cannot write the IES Exam before attaining 21 years.

No my friend, there is no such upper age relaxation for govt. working servants in IES Exam.
The only age relaxation is given to OBC and SC/ST candidates.

but i asked in upsc call center then says me that BSNL IS NOT Under DOT it is PSU HOW we as jto of bsnl apply for ies exam?

pl clear me that i also willing to give exam call me 9422831050........

hi sir, i am a student from nit trichy,3rd year,instrumentation and control engg.. can just tell me whether there is p.h category in I.E.S?? and what was the cutoff mark in 2008 and 2009 ies exam and also tell the cutoff mark in ph category also.

Hi,
According to the eligibility criteria for IES Exam there is no age relaxation for government servant. Age relaxation is given to obc and sc/st candidates only.
Age limit for general is 21 to 30 years.

Engineering services exam:These exams are conducted by UPSC.

Age limit for Engineering services exam: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing.
Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.
