Hi, I want to become an IPS Officer. So, which entrance exam do I need to write? Do I need to write the UPSC only or is there any other entrance as well? Please, provide entrance details.

IPS refers to Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year. The examination is conducted in three stages which includes Preliminary test followed by Mains and Personal Interview.

Further, the basic qualifications required to apply for the Civil Services examination are as below :-

* You must be an Indian citizen.

* Your age must lie within 21 years to 32 years. Age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category as per the norms.

* You must have completed your graduation degree course in any discipline from a recognized university.

* You must hold Physical fitness as per the service requirement norms to join IPS wing. Further, same is not essential for all the wings of Civil Services such as IAS, etc. .

To become an I.P.S Officer, you have to appear and qualify in Civil Service Examination.

Civil Service examination is conducted in three stages. Candidates after qualifying in all stages become eligible for selection as an I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S officer.
