To apply for National Defence Academy, You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease, This examination is Conducted by UPSC, Twice in a year and to apply for this examination you must have completed your 12Th examination from a recognised Board, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for NDA Examination.

The Notification of NDA (I) 2012 Examination was already Out and the Last date of Fill the Online application form is 30/Jan/2012, Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1996 are eligible for NDA Examination.

Eye Sight standard for Indian Army:
------------------------------

>> should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye.
>> 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses.
>> Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and Hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism.

Vision standard for Naval candidates :
-------------------------------
>> Uncorrected without glass : 6/9
>> Corrected with glass : 6/6
>> Limits of Myopia : -0.75
>> Limits of Hypermetropia : +1.5

Visual standards for Air Force:
------------------------
If you habitually wear spectacles, then you are not eligible for Air Force.

>> Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and
>> 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia
>> Colour vision CP-I Hypermetropia : + 2.0 D Sph
>> Manifest Myopia : Nil
>> Retinoscopic Myopia : - 0.5
>> Astigmatism : +0.75.

So, You have to fulfill the given Eligiblity Criteria, Only then you are eligible to apply for NDA Examination and if you need more Information then please check official website :

There generally two examination are held for N.D.A., one is N.D.A. - 1 and another is N.D.A. - 2.You can also attempt both this two exam.

Vision : minimum visual acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in another
eye

Sorry to say that you are not eligible for NDA because they want only normal eye sight.

So you can try for different kind of jobs.

I want to join nda.and i m in 12th std. My eye sight is 6/9 in both eye...my height is 164cm. can i join nda???

May I join in NDA ? If I had -2 eye sight for AIR FORCE I have more interest in NDA than any othet. Please tell me now.
