Re: Are girls allowed to enter the Indian Air Force?
1) Yes off course. Previously there was only SSC (short service commission) for girls in any of defence services weather Army,Navy or Airforce. But new rule passed in 2009 allowed female candidates both in permanent as well as Combat commission of IAF and Navy only.
2) Female candidates those who have following degrees can apply for IAF:- B.sc (Physics, radio, electronics,IT). M.sc (Physics, radio, electronics,IT,CS) BCA (Specially for female candidates). MCA. B.tech/M.tech (civil, mechanical, electronics, electronics & talecommunication,Aeronautical etc.) B.arch (vacancy according to requirement). Etc. 3) Expenses varies from course to course,B.sc is some what cheaper,B.tech is costlier etc. 4) There are following schemes for you to get into IAF:- A) UES: university entry scheme,is meant for all male and female candidates those who have attend there first university degree, that is (Bachelor degree). Notification for it are released In Employment news. B) SSC: short service commission,is ment for all male and female candidates those who have B.sc/M.sc (Physics, radio, electronics,) or B.tech/M.tech (civil, mechanical, electronics, electronics & talecommunication,Aeronautical etc.) with atlest 60% aggregate including all semester.Notification for it are released In Employment news. c) There are also some entry schemes which are meant only for Female candidates, notification for whic are released according to requirements in Employment News. D) There is also entry scheme for Teaching,in Teaching cadre of all defence services. The minimum required qualification for which is a bachelor degree along with a B.ed degree with atleast 55% aggregate. Notification for it are released In Employment news. Re: Are girls allowed to enter the Indian Air Force?
dear friend,
yes the girls are allowed in IAF but there is very little scope that they can do better there. girls have to struggle a lot as their physical strength is weak. they can apply in the following. B.sc (Physics, radio, electronics,IT). M.sc (Physics, radio, electronics,IT,CS) BCA (Specially for female candidates). etc. you can get there through UES ,SSC etc. all the best. |

Re: Are girls allowed to enter the Indian Air Force?
Dear friend
Yes the woman candidate are also recruited for the various posts of IAF. Please visit the IAF website http://careerairforce.nic.in/career_opp/caropp_officer_womenair.html selection procedure http://careerairforce.nic.in/career_opp/caropp_officer_selproc.html Candidates short-listed after the initial selection procedure, will go through a rigorous training regimen at one of the Air Force training establishments visit:http://careerairforce.nic.in/train_estb/index.html After which they are given a short service commission as officers and posted at any of the Air Force Stations. Short Service Commission If the Indian Air Force grants you the Short Service Commission, it means that you have been accepted in service for a period of ten years. Depending upon your performance, Air Force requirements and your inclination to continue, you can extend your tenure by five years. Thereafter, you can extend your tenure by another five years or retire at forty whichever comes first. The Short Service Commission is granted to both men and women. For all details visit the respective website as provided above. Thank you |

Re: Are girls allowed to enter the Indian Air Force?
SSC has several meanings like- School Service Commission. Staff Selection Commission, Short Service Commission etc..... and I think you are confused here. However, In defence SSC stands for Short Service Commission which are meant for recruiting Officers bothe Male and Female for a period of 10 years. Which is extendable for upto 14 years depending upon the performance during srvice. And in some also some candidates are promoted to permanent commission depending upon the individuals performance and seniority. And for Femal Cadets SSC is a best option, because Permanent commission was introduce for females also by the Order of Delhi High Court but Supreme Court has challende the High Court for not Recruiting the Female in Combat Department, unless a report for reason can not be submitted. Regards ~Faiyaz~ Quote:
B.sc (Physics, Radio, Electronics) is required for it. However keep reding Employment News for remaining upto date. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

IAF works based on three branches namely flying branch, technical branch, and ground duty branch. IAF provides opportunities to women in all these three branches at par with men. Though the selection process is tough, they give special consideration to women candidates entry into these branches. Candidates with 10+2, Graduates and post graduates are welcomed. So do you best to get placed. All the Best. |

Hi, IAF works on three branches, flying branch, ground duty branch and technical brance. You can take any of these branches as you are qualified for all of this. Once after selection into IAF, You will be trained to the concerned branch with basic remuneration. You dont have to pay. But the selection process is pretty tough. A candidate should be physically and mentally fit without any diseases, injuries and disabilities which can interfere in performing the duties. Also there are height and weight standards which are different for different branches. Hearing and eyesight should be good. There are even other physical and medical standards which have to be cleared to be eligible for Indian Air Force. To get into or to become a commertial Pilot is also a good option. But, at the current scenario, It is pretty costly to join pilot training which may cost you upto 20 to 25 lacks to complete the course abraod like USA. In India, It is even more costly. Do check for the same. All the best. |

Re: Are girls allowed to enter the Indian Air Force?
Yes of course you are eligible. Minimum eligibility for it is that candidate nust be Graduation passed in any field, weather regular or distance mode it doesn't matters. Percentage is also no bar. For becoming a IPS officer you have to go through Civil service exams. Which is conducted by UPSC (http://www.upsc.gov.in) every year in three phases i) Preliminary, ii) Mains and iii) Interview. Preliminary for the year 2010 has been conducted, means now you can only appear for it next year. |

Re: Are girls allowed to enter the Indian Air Force?
Hello,
Yes girls can apply in the IAF, but consider the following: 1.If she has done BTech and is in the final year, then she is eligible for the short service commission.First an interview will be taken at the college level on the basis of which she will be selected for short service commission by the the IAF officers. 2.After successful completion of SSC, she will be selected as an officer where the service is for 14yrs and high payscale. there is no expense and is free of cost unfortunately there is no other way through which you can enter the airforce(girls only). Also, there is no permanent commission for women, but it is under consideration. |
