please reply urgently that there is any course named Graduate Marine Engineering in Indian Maritime University? and If yes what is the procedure to join there? and send me regarding syllabus of exam?

IMU offers diploma courses in nautical science and marine engineering.

For admission to diploma you have appear for CET which is conducted every year by imu for admission to its post graduate marine engineering as well as nautical science which will leads to bsc.(nautical science).

For dploma in marine engineering the minimum eligibility criteria is B.E./B.tech in mechanical,naval architech engineering,and you have to also score good in CET.

A seperateate merit lists are prepared for all categories,different for general,different for obc etc.

There is no under gradute course for marine engineering.

to join this course you have to appear for iitjee and then apply to director of marine admissions of india

The minimum requirement for the diploma in marine engineering is a pass certificate of class 10 levels along with a +2 degree in Physics, chemistry, maths. Biology is considered as an advantage. An entrance exam is held for admission into the course. then you have to appear for a medical fitness tests according to the institution norms and possess good and sound mental and physical health. This course is generally meant for male candidates

The programme is constituted of three stages. A candidate is initially admitted for the one year (2 Semesters) Pre-sea course, which is designed to impart basic knowledge on the type of merchant ships, ship operations, types of goods carried by ships, shipping trade and a good foundation in the basic principles of navigation and environmental sciences. On completion, candidate will be awarded Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS). This Diploma programme is followed by one and half year (3 Semesters) on-board ship training.

dear,
as you have completed your BE in mechanical engineering ....it will be a lot easier fro you to join merchant navy........

now all you have to do is to apply for a CDC certificate and then after the course of 2-3 months you will be eligible to board a ship cargo....

Since you are Machanical Engineers you can join Merchant NAvy directly.

Yes there is special provision for Mechanical Engineers.

Only the thing you are required to do is persue a 10 months Pre-Sea training in Marine Engineering.This course is provided by almost every Recognised institute for Merchant Navy training.Some times this course is also offered by Recruiting company itself.

After completing the course you will be absorbed as 5th Engineer or Trainee Engineer in any good National or International shipping company.National placement are usually made on the pay band of 20,000-40,000 statrting salary which can touch to 3 Lacs per month as soon as you will become Chief Engineer.IT takes at least 7 years of experiance to get there.

yes you can apply for the imu cet marine engineering without appearing for the IIT JEE..............there is a separate exam conducted by the imu.........just appear for the exam and clear it and give the medical exam..........

if you clear all these exam then you can join the imu.......
