Having completed my PG in Hindi Am I eligible for NET?

I have completed my Masters in MA Hindi. Some of my friends are saying that being from Hindi background I cannot apply for NET. Is it true? Could you please guide me on this.

Whatever your friends are telling you, its factually incorrect. Hindi medium candidates are eligible for National Eligibility Test. The academic qualification required for National Eligibility Test is master's degree in any stream from a recognized university. You should have at least 55% marks in master's degree.

There is no upper age limit for Lectureship. But for JRF, it is 28 years. You can apply for NET 2019 December exam if you meet minimum requirement.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
