Re: Is height important to become an IAS officer?
Indian Administrative Service officer implements the government schemes. This is his job. He has to consistently visit the places to ensure that government policy and schemes are being implemented properly.
The selection for IAS officers is done through entrance exam called Civil Services Examination. You can appear for this entrance exam after completing graduation. There are several criteria to meet to appear for the Indian Administrative Service but height is not one of them. In fact there is no physical criteria for the Indian Administrative Service. Even the Person with Disability is eligible for the Indian Administrative Service. There is some quota for them in this entrance exam. But please remember that height will not be considered in the physically handicapped quota. The bottom line is that you don't need to worry about height, weight, vision or any other physical criteria to appear for the Indian Administrative Service. So apply without any worries. IAS Eligibility 1. Candidates from India are selected for IAS. 2. Each candidate should have minimum of graduation degree. 3. There is no criteria for percentage. 4. You should be within the age group of 21 to 30 to appear for exam. 5. Up to 3 years relaxation is given for OBC. 6. 5 years relaxation is given to the SC/ST. 7. There are no physical criteria. Selection Process 1. Preliminary Exam in May/June. 2. Main Exam in August/September. 3. Personal Interview. |
