There is a common entrance exam for 19 Public Sector Banks. This entrance exam is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS). You can appear for the entrance exam and if cleared, would be able to get job depending on the vacancy in the banks.
However it is important that you first finish your graduation to apply for the banking job. There are no jobs for 12th pass candidate. Earlier such candidates were allowed to appear for IBPS Clerk exam but not anymore. Once you have completed the graduation, there will be two entrance exams option in front of you: IBPS Clerk IBPS Bank PO My personal suggestion is that you should apply for the IBPS Bank PO due to better salary etc. However you are free to choose for yourself. The educational criteria is same for both the exams which is graduation degree. IBPS Clerk Eligibility 1. A candidate should be of Indian origin. 2. Minimum of 3 years long graduation course must have been completed. 3. You will also require to have some computer skills. A diploma or degree in computers would be enough. Otherwise you must have studied Computers in High School or college. 4. You will need to be fluent in regional langauge depending on the state where you want job. For example if wish to get job in Maharashtra then you must be able to fluently write and speak Marathi language. 5. Minimum age to appear is 20 years. 6. Maximum age limit is 28 years. Age Relaxation OBC - 3 years. SC/ST - 5 years. PWD - 10 years. IBPS Bank PO 1. Only candidates of Indian origins are eligible. 2. Any bachelor degree would be enough as long as completed from recognized college. 3. There is no percentage requirement. 4. The age limit for Bank PO is 20 to 30 years. 5. Age relaxation is same as for IBPS Clerk, mentioned above. |
