How to apply for IAS/PCS exam if I am a B.Com final year student


sir, i am a b.com final year student 21, want to know how to apply for the ias/pcs exams also i want to know what are the subjects relating to above two, what is the date for exam plz reply

yes, off course you can apply for IAS being final year student of B.com.


IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service conducted by UPSC every year



Eligibility :
  • A candidate must have completed their graduation Degree in any Discipline (B.A, B.com, B.E ) with atlest 55% from recognise universities.
  • Final year students are also applicable.



Age Limit:
  • General category student:- 21 to 30 years
  • OBC category student:- 21 to 33 years
  • SC/ST category student:- 21 to 35 years



No. Attempt:
  • General - maximum 4 times
  • OBC - maximum 7 times
  • SC/ST - No limit



Exam Pattern:
  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Interview

To become an IAS Officer you have to appear in the UPSC Civil Services Exams

Minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services exams is:

Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university

Nice to see your interest in the field of Civil Services. The UPSC conducts the Civil Services examination once in every year. As per your question you are in the final year of the B.Com so as per eligibility criteria you are eligible to apply for the Civil Services examination. Here i give you the details eligibility criteria for the Civil Services Examination.

Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services Examination.
--> Must pass the graduation degree in any stream from a recognize University. Final year student may also apply for Civil Services Examination.
--> The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of examination. The upper age relaxation is applicable for the reservation category.

These are the basic eligibility criteria for the Civil Services examination. As per your criteria you are eligible to apply for the Civil Services examination. IAS -Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for IAS, Civil Service Exam.

The selection is through two stages of written exam followed by Personal Interview.

The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service Exam, is called for a Preliminary Exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test).

The candidate selected out of CSAT, is called for Civil Service Main Exam and final selection is conducted through Personal Interview out of candidate selected from Main Exam.

The Civil Service can be applied through both on line and off line mode.

Through off line mode the application form can be obtained from General Post Offices through out the country and through online mode the same can be down loaded from the official web site of UPSC i.e. http://www.upsconline.com

## The minimum educational qualification required to apply for IAS examination is graduation/degree in any discipline from recognised institution or university
## As you are studying your B.COM final year,you can apply for IAS/PSC examination after the completion of your B.COM course

Yes B.Com students are eligible to apply for IAS examination. So you should complete your B.Com Graduation and then apply for Civil Services examination next year in 2014 because this years examination is already taken place.

You should start preparing for the next years Civil Services exam as soon as possible because the merit for preliminary exam is rising every year and you have to be really well prepared for the exam to get qualified for Mains.

Age Limit :

General Category : 21 to 30 years

OBC Category : 21 to 33 years

SC/ST Category : 21 to 35 years

Selection Procedure:

-Preliminary Exam

-Mains Exam

-Interview

Number of Attempts:

General - 4 attempts

OBC - 7 attempts

SC/ST - no limit

You can not apply IAS AS WELL AS PCS exam in first year of your B.com degree.

Appearing in final year candidates is eligible for IAS as well as IPS exam in graduation degree in any stream.

Exam Eligibility;-

1-You must be passed a graduate degree from a Indian recognized university

2-There is no percentage requirement

3-Appearing in final year candidates are also eligible.

Age limits;-

General age limits is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given reserved category students.

Age relaxation;-

3 years age relaxation for OBC category

5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category

10 years for PH candidates

Number of Attempts;-

4 times for General category Candidates

7 times for OBC candidates

No limit for SC/ST category

Yes, you are eligible for IAS with your B.Com Final

For IAS the minimum educational qualification is any bachelor of degree, but final year students also eligible for IAS Examination
