Sorry, without maths you can not join merchant navy.

A degree in 10+2 or equivalent with physics, maths and chemistry is compulsory for merchant navy.

The two major department of Merchant navy are the Navigation and Engineering department for which you must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths in the +2 level of education. Apart from this two, the department which recruits candidates from commerce background is administrative department. To be part of this department, you must hold a degree in commerce or equivalent. Qualified candidates with fair knowledge of computer are appointed as Pursuer.A Purser is responsible for general administration and all money-related needs on board.

To apply for merchant navy you should have physics,chemistry and maths as your main subject.You can appear for PCM to join merchant navy.

hey i want 2 join the navy i scored 71% in 12th comm(without maths) so wch all courses can i go for??

Although i have pursued 10 2 in the field of commerce without maths, i desperately want to join Merchant Navy. The optional subject which took was Computer. Is their any other option to join Merchant Navy. If yes, Kindly provide me the criteria to join Merchant Navy.

eligibility criteria for merchant nevy is;

-a candidate should have physics, chemistry and maths in his 12th and
the marks should not be lower than 60%.....

as you are a commerce student without maths you are not eligible for
merchant nevy

For that you must have complete your 12th in science having subjects like Physics, chemistry and maths with 60% aggregate.

As you have complete your 12th in commerce field then you are not eligible.

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy after 12th standard:
Candidate should have completed 12th standard with PCM stream from recognized university.
Age should be between 16 to 19 years.
