Re: How to become an IAS officer after completing B.Com with 66%
Since you have completed graduation, you are eligible for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. You don't need to worry about percentage, because it is irrelevant in the Civil Service Examination.
Eligibility 1. You must be of Indian origin. 2. A graduation degree in any stream is required. 3. The age limit is 21 to 30 years as of August 1 of examination year. 4. Age limit is extended by 3 years for OBC. 5. SC/ST gets 5 years relaxation. Exam Pattern 1) Preliminary Exam There are two papers in the Preliminary Exam. First one is on general studies while you need to select a subject for second paper. Preliminary is only a qualifying examination. It takes place in May and candidates who pass this exam are eligible to sit in Main Exam. 2) Main Exams There are total of 9 papers in the main exam which is followed by the Interview. First two subjects are on Indian Language and English. Third is on essay while fourth and fifth are on general studies. For the remaining 4 papers you once again need to select 2 subjects. Attempts 1. General - 4 2. OBC - 7 3. SC/ST - no limit Optional Subjects Economics Mechanical Engg Sociology Electrical Engg. Anthropology Geography Political Science & International Relations Chemistry History Commerce & Accountancy Management Psychology Mathematics Public Administration Agriculture Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science Botany Civil Engineering English Literature Geology Law Philosophy Statistics Physics Zoology Medical Science |

Re: How to become an IAS officer after completing B.Com with 66%
IAS - Indian Administrative Service, to become an IAS officer one has to crack Civil service Exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian national having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. So as you are a B.Com. Graduate, you are eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. There is no requirement of any percentage of marks criteria for this exam. The selection is through two stages of written exam followed by Personal Interview. The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service Exam is called for a Preliminary Exam also called as CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test). The candidate selected out of CSAT exam, is called for the Civil Service Main Exam and the final selection is through Personal Interview out of the candidate selected through Main Exam.
