I completed my Diploma in medical lab technologies after my tenth and what should be my next step to become an IAS officer

Hello,
Minimum Qualification required to become IAS officer is Graduation from a recognized University And your Age should be between 21 to 30 years.

So go for Graduation degree first to apply for IAS exam which are conducted by UPSC as civil services exams every year.

Hiiiiiii,

IAS (Indian Administrative Service) examination are conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission).

NO you cannot become an IAS officer after doing diploma in medical lab technologies because minimum eligibility for IAS examination is graduation.


Eligibility criteria for UPSC IAS exam are as follows: -

1. Pass graduation / Bachelor’s degree in any subject or in any engineering stream or equivqlent from a recognised institute / university.

2. Age - 21 Years to 30 Years for General candidates, 21 Years to 33 Years for OBC candidates and 21 Years to 35 Years for SC / ST candidates.

3. Nationality - Indian

NOTE: - Final year appearing candidates can also apply.

Procedure to become IAS officer

To become an IAS officer you have to give civil service examination.
Civil service examination is conducted by the UPSC every year.
The eligibility required for this exam is given below:

To apply for the civil service examination you should

Candidates appear in the final year examination
also apply for the civil service examination.

So you have to complete your graduation first to
apply for the civil service examination.

You should be 21 years old before you apply for IAS examination.

Educational Qualifications for IAS examination

Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification.

After doing Diploma you do not get a Bachelors degree. So you can join In B.TECH lateral entry and after 3 years you can surely be eligible for sitting in the IAS.

You can not appear in IAS exam after completing diploma courses
because the minimum qualification required for IAS exam is graduation
in any stream from a recognize university. But the diploma courses is
not equivalent to the graduation degree so i advise you to do graduation
course and then apply for IAS exam. IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in

I am a Diploma Holder in Mechanical Stream. I want to apply for IAS exmination. But first i am going to complete my Graudation as correspondence from AMIE. Kolkata
My question is, After completing graudation from AMIE am i able to go for UPSC exms?

*You need to complete your graduation course to appear in the exam.Final year Students can Also join for the Exam.

* Your age must be in between 21 to 30 years Of age.

So in order to be an IAS officer you need to complete your graduation first.

Your not eligible for the ias exam because diploma is not considered as graduate degree . i explain the eligibility for ias exam please read it

You should qualified for the under graduation course in any stream with 60% percetnage of marks in recognized university .

your age should be 21 to 30 years and relaxation period is given to sc/st candidates of the 5 years and 3 years given to obc candidate and 10 years for the widows an handicapped candidates

so if you want to become an ias officer you can pursue for under graduation course in any stream then apply for the ias exam .
