1. Raw brain power 2. Dedication to finish long-term projects 3. Communication skills (writing, speaking) 4. Curiosity 5. Attention to detail There’s no crime in not becoming a scientist. Not every smart person has these qualities. And there are plenty of smart people who aren’t geniuses who make great scientists. As a professor mentoring students, I see some of the brightest fail on some of these points every year, and others less gifted succeed on their other strengths. |

Re: How to become a Scientist?
Quote:
A scientist is a very educated person. He/She has to study a lot to reach the research level and work at that level. Talking in terms of the definition, a Scientist is a person or professional whose taken up Science studies as his/her career and works for the development of technologies, inventions, innovations, etc in labs and other workstations. Now if you wish to become a Scientist, then there are a lot of studies and qualifications that you need to gain before that. At first you have to pass your Class 10th or board exams with a good enough percentage so that you can take up SCIENCE stream for your Classes 11th and 12th or higher secondary. After studying the Science subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics well you have to appear for the board exams and SCORE THE MAXIMUM THAT YOU CAN IN IT. If you wish to become a scientist, then I must urge you to have a very strong hold on the Science subjects. So you can easily clear the IIT JEE exam if your root concepts are clear. This is important as you would get a lot of learning opportunities in the IIT's as they are the best technical institutions in our country. After completing your B.Tech, next step would be M.Tech i.e masters program. This can be done by appearing in the GATE Exam. This would provide you entry into the IIT's for the M.Tech course. Again do it for 2 more years. Hence after that you can enter the research field/Ph.D/Doctorate degrees, etc.. and you can join ANY technical organization like DRDO, ISRO, etc for the Scientist posts. Hope this helps All the best Regards RANJEET |
