how we can crack the cat exam. at present we are students of b.tech first year, first sem.

HELLO FRIEND:
CAT:This is the competative exam held all over INDIA to enter into management stream and the exam is conducted on applications and basic related to preveious subject and even consist of generel apptitude and reasonig questions this is a very easy exam
ELIGIBILITY:
applicant schould have been completed any degree like B-tech,B-sc,etc with a percentage of 55 percentage atleast
TOPICS TO BE COVERED TO GET GOOD SCORE:

CAT is an aptitude test. There is no set or defined syllabus for the exam. what we can say about CAT is it is designed to assess the natural ability of a person towards their desired objective. Hence CAT is designed to test the inclination of the applicant towards managerial tasks and roles.

Mainly the questions are asked from

Quantitative Aptitude,
Reading Comprehension & Verbal Ability,
Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency

How To Prepare For CAT

Generally students start preparing and take coaching from the 3rd year of B.Tech but its quite good that you have realized your goal so early and want to work for it straight away..

>> Read the newspaper everyday :- You hear this from everyone everyday but you will realize its importance at the time of your exam..If you do not wish to read the full newspaper then only go through the editorial page and underline and look for the meanings of those words at the very instant..

This will help you strengthen your vocabulary..and by difficult words i mean the big words..small words wont be of any use for you when you talk about CAT..

>> Basic Maths :- For the quantitative aptitude section..you must have the formulas and theorems of Maths from class 7th to 10th on your tips so do practice them a lot..

>> Novels :- Read British author novels..this will improve your grammar and also help you in your vocabulary..

CAT will mainly test you on the following grounds :-

Vocabulary
Quantitative Aptitude
Reading Comprehension
Logical Reasoning
Data Interpretation
Data Sufficiency

CAT consists of the following sections

• QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
• LOGICAL REASONING
• DATA INTERPRETATION

QUANTITATIVE
This section involves logical type of mathematics . level is difficult on the basis of IQ

REASONING & DATA INTERPRETATION
This part requires LOGICAL SENSE & IQ since it involves graphs, statistics and a bit of commonsense

ENGLISH
In this part you require high grasp of GRAMMER & VOCABULARY.

Every year I.I.M.s (Indian Institute of Management) organised the C.A.T.(Common Admission Test) examination. According to the C.A.T. score the candidates are admitted in the management colleges.

C.A.T. 2012 Eligibility :-

Graduates in any discipline. Final year students and pre-final year of Graduate Courses can also apply.

As you are in B.Tech. 1st semester. So you are not eligible.

But you can start preparation yourself. Here I have provided some books name from where you can study and for this you have to buy the hard copy from market.The books are :

1. Analytical & Logical Reasoning
2. Quantative Aptitude by R.S.Agarwall
3. Verbal ability for CAT by Sujit Kumar
4. CAT by N.K.Sinha
5. Verbal Reasoning by R.S.Agarwall
6. Tata McGraw-Hills Publication CAT Study material by A.Sharma and
Upadhyay
7. Quantative Aptitude of CAT by Arun Sharma.

Besides this you can take coaching from your nearby coaching center.
Another thing I can say to you is that go for the following guidelines :

1. Maintain a time table
2. Work hard
3. Don't leave any important chapter
4. Study all these chapter very well
5. Take a valuable guideline from books and as well as coaching centers
6. Practice carefully
7. Attend test series of multiple type question.

If you do this way the you will be succeed.
