Chartered Accountancy course is basically offered through correspondence mode , however, candidates willing to attend oral coaching may enroll at any ICAI accredited study centers but is not mandatory.
Candidates engaged in some other profession can definitely pursue the course through distance but will have to go through the compulsory training programs which includes 100 hrs of Information Technology Program and 3 years and 6 months of Articleship Training prescribed by the institute. Candidates belonging to any profession do not gets exemption from the training program and is the only part of the course which could create some kind of difficulties for professionals.

As far as the structure of the course is concerned , apart from the practical training mentioned above, the chartered accountancy course comprise of the following stages:
  • Common Proficiency Test
  • Integrated Professional Competence Course
  • Final Course
For further information, refer to the official website of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
