Those who have passed bachelor’s degree in any discipline can try for IAS. Now you must get through the selection process that comprises of prelims, mains, and interview. Prelims exam is usually conducted in the month of May and notifications will be issued in the month of February. It is possible to submit online applications through the website of UPSC. You have to prepare well to clear the exam. Self preparation or training under coaching centers can be adopted.

Dear Friend

IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Services. Its good to desire for becoming an IAS officer but to be very honest it is a tough task and if you need to give your level best in order to crack the entrance exam for the IAS that is Civil services examinations.

Strong determination along hard labour and courage is required to do so.

It is conducted by the UPSC once every year .Candidates for the other services like IAS,IPS,IFS etc are selected through this exam.

Eligibility criteria:

>>Minimum of
bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university .final year candidates can also appear for the exam.

>>Do not worry ,you are eligible with 55% of marks in bachelor's degree as only passing % of marks is required to be eligible for the exam.

The age limit is 21-30 years for the general candidates and relaxation in upper age limits for the obc and sc/st candidates.

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

Guidelines:

There are limited attempts for the exam for the general candidates is four and for obc is seven and for sc/st no limit till age limit. So if you are from general or obc ,you must go for preparation for at least a year then appear for the exam.

As the coaching institutes will guide you in short time very well and along with that your own effort is also necessary.

Some of the institutes:

>>Vajiram and Ravi IAS academy

>>IAS study circle

>>Rao's IAS study circle

>>Chanakya's IAS academy

>>Ujjwal IAS study.

The exam has three stages:

>>Preliminary test

>>Personal interview.

Note: Try to gain command over the general knowledge by reading newspapers ,watching news channels etc.
