I have completed B.E.in electronics & telecommunication with 71% aggregate tell me about gov jobs for which i can apply..??also which entrance exam I should give to get a gov jobs??

Your percentage in the Engineering course is excellent. Besides you have picked one of the most sought after Engineering stream which is Electronics and Communications. I will recommend you to apply for Public Sector Undertaking jobs.

As you may know that PSU or Public Sector Undertakings are the companies under the control of government. It could be state government or central government. Generally the government has minimum of 51 percent stake in such companies, which is essential to keep control.

There are more than 150 such companies but no common entrance exam. You will have to check notification of each company and apply accordingly. Good thing is that most of the PSUs hire Electronics and Communication Engineers.

The selection procedure is written test and a interview. However the written test is not conducted in all the compaines. Some simply ask for the GATE score. So if you haven't appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering, it is the right time to do so. The better you will perform in GATE, more the chances of getting selected.


PSU Requirement

1. PSU will only hire Indian citizens.

2. Bachelor of Technology degree should be completed.

3. Must have cleared backlogs before applying.

4. Marks should be minimum of 60 percent.

5. There is requirement of GATE score.

6. Age limit is 21 to 30 years.

7. There is 3 years of relaxation for OBC.

8. 5 years is given to SC/ST.

Qualifying GATE helps you to try for various job openings in PSU. PSU like NTPC, BHEL, BEL, and OIL often recruits candidates on the basis of GATE score, GD, and interview. Those with a valid score in UPSC’s ESE can look for jobs in Indian defense services or Indian railway service. In order to join as Officer in defense, you must qualify CDS exam. You are also eligible for Specialist Officer Position in banks. For this, you must qualify the exam conducted by IBPS or SBI.
