Hi dear,

IPS(Indian Police Service) is the most sought and prestigious exam after IAS,where it is the dream of every young Indians to clear this one just like you.

In order to prepare for IPS,you have to do a lot of hard work and be consistent in your goals,work both smartly and hard.

You can get second hand books from friends and colleagues and you can use them for preparation.

Some of the tips for you:-

1.Eligibilty:- 21 years must be completed and any graduate can apply for this.
Attempts:- 4 for general and 7 for OBC, SC can attempt as many as they can.

2.As you are taking geography,you can take it, make a proper planning to make use of the time for all the subjects.

3.You can also start preparing the NCERT books from class 6 to 10. They are most simple and contain most of the necessary points to be noted.

4.Improve your general knowledge by reading magazines and newspaper like - the hindu, pratiyogita darpan,competition success etc.

5.Be sure that you have good presentation skills.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. This exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission every year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Nationality:

The candidate should be citizen of India.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should complete the Graduation from any recognized University.

The candidate not required the percentage for this exam.

Final Year pursuing candidates are also eligible for this exam.

Age limit:

You should required age limit should be 21 to 30 years.

The upper age relaxation is applicable for this exam.

3 years for OBc & 5 years for SC\ST.

10 years for PH.

Gender:

Both male & female candidates are eligible to become IPS officer.

No of Attempts:

4 for General

7 for OBC

No limit for SC\ST.

IPS - Indian Police Service, to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

Apart from this the aspiring candidate for IPS should have minimum Physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT - General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST - Male-84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

The selection is through three phases:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam

-Civil Service Main Exam

-Personal Interview

I am happy to inform you that after passing graduation with any stream you are eligible for I.P.S.

For I.P.S. you have to qualify the Civil Services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age limit for Civil Services exam
For open category:- 21-30 year.
For ST/SC candidate:- 21-37 year.

You have to do lots of planing for Civil Services.

You have to select two optional subject.

To become an IPS officer you need to give the upsc exam conducted every year and you can apply for it online at www.upsconline.nic.in after the notification is issued.
