The Indian Air Force basically comprise of the following branches:

• Flying Branch
• Technical Branch
• Administrative Branch
• Logistics
• Accounts Branch
• Meteorological Branch

Now, specifically for a graduate in Biology, there isn't any particular branch but being a graduate, you may apply for the Administrative Branch as well as for Logistics, provided you have scored a minimum of 60% in the bachelors degree examination. To get into any of the two branches, you will have to write Air Force Common Admission Test which is conducted twice a year by Air Force Selection Board. Apart from these two branches, you may also be considered eligible for the Flying Branch provided you have studied Physics and Mathematics in the +2 level. The entrance examination for the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force is conducted by Union Public Service Commission, known as Combined Defense Service Examination and apart from fulfilling the aforementioned eligibility criteria, you must be within the age limit for 19-23 years to be eligible for the Combined Defense Service Examination.

There are two entry schemes through which you can join Indian Air force as an officer these are:

>COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAMINATION

>AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST

The combined defence service examination is conducted by the Union Public service commission twice in a year whereas the Air force common admission test is conducted by the Indian Air force twice in a year. The eligibility required for the CDS and the AFCAT examination is given below:

Combined defence service examination
Candidate applying for the CDS examination should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the combined defence service examination.
This exam is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in Indian Air force, Army and Navy. It should be note that candidate applying for the Indian Air force and Navy should have physics and maths at 10+2.

Age Limit
Indian Military Academy 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy 19-25Years
Naval Academy 19-22 Years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years


AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST
The AFCAT examination is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in various branches of Indian Air force such as:

>GROUND DUTY BRANCH

Candidate applying for the AFCAT examination should be graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. Also a candidate should have physics and maths at 10+2.
In technical branch only the engineering students are eligible.

GROUND DUTY BRANCH

you can join the indian air force after completing the b.sc with CDS exam.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service. This exam conducted by the upsc twice in a year.

i.e, CDS-I and CDS-II

Eligibility criteria:

the candidate should be citizen of india.

The candidate should complete the graduation from a recognized university.

The indian air force and navy the candidate need the science stream.

The final year candidates also eligible this exam.

The age limits are
india army 19 to 24 years.
Navy 19 to 23 years.
Indian air force 19 to 24 years.

Only unmaried male candidates are eligible for this exam.

CDS eligibility criteria:

Percentage is not required for CDS exam.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.

The candidate must be physically fit.

For naval academy 19 years to 22 years,

For airforce 19 years to 23 years,

For military academy 19 years to 24 years,

For officer training academy 19 years to 25 years.
