How to join Indian Forest Service after completing b.Tech in Chemical Engineering


Sir/madam,
I have completed my B.tech in Chemical engineering and want to join Indian Forest Services...
please give me complete knowlegde of filling entrance form and preparations regarding IFS...

hai,

In 1948 the first group of Indian Foreign Service officers recruited under the combined Civil Services Examination administered by the Union Public Service Commission joined the service. This exam is still used to select new IFS officers.
You need to have a degree in technology or engineering to give this exam. A degree in any one of the following subject would also do: Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Mathematics, Zoology, Statistics, Agriculture and Forestry.

Age Limit:

For General Candidate : 21-30 years
For OBC Candidate : 21-33 years
For SC/ST Candidate : 21-35 years

Exam Patterns: Written test consists of following paper:

Paper -I : General English : Marks 300
Paper-II : General Knowledge : Marks 300
Paper-III : Optional Subject-I : Marks 200
Paper-IV : Optional Subject-I : Marks 200
Paper-V : Optional Subject-2 : Marks 200
Paper-VI : Optional Subject-2 : Marks 200

After Written Examination Interview for personality test will be of 300 Marks.

Yes you are eligible for Indian Forest services exam which is conducted by UPSC.

If one has to apply for IFS exam then he must be Graduate in one of the following subjects:

-Agricultural Sciences

-Zoology

-Botany

-Geology

-Veterinary Sciences

-Chemistry

-Biochemistry

-Engineering

Hence you are an Engineering graduate so you are eligible for this exam.

If you want to apply for IFS exam then you have to visit UPSC website http://www.upsconline.nic.in

You can pay the application fee through bank challan or net banking.

The age limit for IFS exam is 21 to 30 years if you are general category .

There is age relaxation available for SC/ST, OBC , PWD and Ex servicemen.

The selection will be based on written examination and personal interview.

Dear,

Indian forest services announces their notification regarding the exam in the month of February and March and exam will be conducted in the month of July.

Eligibility criteria to write this exam are:
  1. Age:21-30 Years on 1st July of the year of examination
  2. A Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology 'or'
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry 'or'
  4. Engineering from recognised university or equivalent in any stream.
  5. Final year appearing studetns can also apply.
Maximum number of attempts that you will get is four.

Exam patter:
There will be a written exam of conventional (essay) type. There will be three sections:
  1. Paper I - General English 300 Marks
  2. Paper II - General Knowledge 300 Marks
  3. Paper III, IV, V & VI - Any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects.

List of optional subjects:
  1. Agriculture
  2. Agricultural Engineering
  3. Animal Husbandary & Veterinary Science
  4. Botany
  5. Chemistry
  6. Chemical Engineering
  7. Civil Engineering
  8. Forestry
  9. Geology
  10. Mathematics
  11. Mechanical Engineering
  12. Physics
  13. Statistics
  14. Zoology

Candidates are not allowed to offer the following combination of subjects :
  1. Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering
  2. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
  3. Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
  4. Mathematics and Statistics
  5. Of the Engineering subjects viz. Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering - not more than one subject
After you qualify written test there will be an interview for Personality Test that will be of 300 Marks.

Application:
You have to submit the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations.You can purchase it from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices throughout the country against a cash payment of Rs 20.

In order to appear in IFS(Indian Forest Services) Exam you will have to appear for the UPSC(Union Public Services Exam).

In order to appear for this exam you will require the following Eligibility:-

>>You must be pass out in your Engineering.
>>Your degree should be approved from the UGC/AICTE.
>>Your minimum marks should be 50%/CGPA Should be above 6.0

Age details:-

>>Your minimum age should be 21 years.
>>Your age should not be above 28 years.

There will be two exams taken through this :-

1)Preliminary exam.
2)Mains Exam + Interview.

In Preliminary exams you will get questions from following sections:-

>>Analytical and Logical Reasoning.
>>Numerical Aptitude + Data Interpretation.
>>General English Comprehension + Grammar.
>>General Knowledge.

After getting pass in the Preliminary exam you will get chance to appear in Mains Exam.

NOTE:-

There is Limitations for appearing in this exam:-

Its details are:-

>>If you belong from the General Category then you can appear only 4 times.
>>If you belong from the OBC Category then you can appear only 7 times.

Hi friend.......

IFS stands for Indian Forest Service Examination and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year. For this year examination Notification was already Published and the Online Registrations was also started. The last date of apply for this examination is 14/May/2012 and the examination will be conducted soon on 14/July/2012.

To apply for this examination you must have completed your Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from a recognised University.

Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination.

To apply for this examination, you must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2012.

The written examination consisting of the following papers:

Paper I : General English ----------300 marks
Paper II : General Knowledge -------300 marks
Paper III : Any two subjects ------200 marks
Paper IV : from the list of optional
Paper V : Subjects selected by candidates
Paper VI : Each subject will have two papers

All papers form III to VI will be of 200 Marks. Those who cracked the written examination are eligible for Personal Interview.

UPSC conduct IFS exam every year forrecruitment in Indian Forestry Services.

● The eligibility required to join IFS are as under:--

»»The candidate must be a citizen of India with valid residence certificate.

»»The candidate age limit to apply for the exam is from 21 years to 30 years for general category candidates.There is relaxation in upper age limit for OBCcandidates by 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

»»The candidates who are in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the preliminary exam conducted by UPSC.



●Exam pattern :-

Paper 1 : General English ----------300 marks
Paper 2 : General Knowledge -------300 marks
Paper 3 : Any two subjects ------200 marks
Paper 4 : from the list of optional------200marks
Paper 5 : Subjects selected by candidates------200marks
