Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest engineering branch.
Generally mechanical engineering covers the topics from automobile, machine design, manufacturing, quality control etc.

You can join diploma in mechanical engineering after 10th or B.Tech in mechanical engineering after 12th or its equivalent examination.

You can mechanical engineering by appearing for JEE entrance exam. JEE is conducted for B.Tech admission in IITs & NITs. But most of engineering institutes in India offers admission through JEE marks.
So, my suggestion is to apply for JEE & score good rank.
