There is no limit for the number of attempts for obc candidates in IES exams. So you can appear manny times you want........

You can attempt as many times as you can in the IES exam or any civil service exam whether you are an OBC or general candidate.

Generally, the restriction comes in the age criteria, where graduate candidates must be within 30 years of age.

No restrictions on number of attempts in IES. You can take any no. of attempts till the age of 33 as you are OBC.

Dear friends as there is not restriction on how many times you want to give that exam.
But there is a certain age limit for that which you can't have exceed.

And also there is minimum qualification that you should have a degree.

So go ahead but use your all knowledge and hard work in achieving it in first attempt only because it will be simply waste of time writing number of times with out perfect preparation. So be prepared well for your exam and keep in mind that this is the first and last chance for you to write this exam and prepare accordingly to it. Then you can surely succeed in it. there is nothing specified for obc candidates,relaxation is given upto 5 years to sc,st and army personnal only.

OBC students have a relaxation of 3 years, Hence an OBC candidate can apply for the IES exam 7 times.

While a general category candidate gets only 4 chances to clear the exam.

my B.E. mechanical average percentage is 64.8% can I appear in NTPC and BHEL examination ?

Indian Engineering Service exam is conducted by UPSC in every year. According to eligibility criteria a OBC candidate can attempt maximum 7 time in IES examination. If you want to any more details then please see the official website of UPSC.

The admission and the is totally based on the ies score. If you score well,you can get some good colleges.
Your score is fine,might not avenge for age,maximum is 35.

There is no restriction for obc candidate in IES exam so you can give as many times as you want.

Eligibility criteria for OBC candidates for IES exam:

Education qualification: Minimum graduation degree in B.Tech.
Age limit: Age should be between 21 to 30 years

No.of.attempts:
7 attempts for OBC category.

So since you are an OBC candidate, you can take a maximum of 7 attempts.
You have to be a minimum graduate to sit for IES, or a final year student.

The IES (Indian engineering services) is a examination organised by UPSC and is for engineers only.
You should have A degree in Engineering from a recognized university.The age limit is 21 to 30 years.
There are for categories for which the recruitment are done:-
Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
So you are eligible for appearing in this exam. You can also apply if you are a final year student.
