Re: How many chances are there for SC candidate in IIT exam?
Maximum number of attempts for IIT-JEE is restricted to 2 (two) for any category candidate.
The first attempt has to be in the year when student appear the 12th board and and other is just next year. If a candidate misses any one of these two or both attempts then he/she can never attempt IIT-JEE. There is no relaxation for SC/ST/PD/OBC candidates in this criteria. If IIT-JEE would be conducted in the year 2013 then only those who would have appeared 12th board exam in the year 2012 or those who will be appearing 12th baord exam in the year 2013, could apply for the exam. If the government's proposal of Common Engineering Entrance Test for admission to all the engineering colleges (or Govt. engineering colleges) is implemented in the year 2013 then there could be some change in criteria. |

Re: How many chances are there for SC candidate in IIT exam?
There is no special relaxation for any type of reserved candidate in connection to number of attempts to IIT-JEE.
One can attempt consecutively two times for IIT-JEE which is is same for any category of candidate. The candidate can first attempt IIT-JEE in the year of appearing for the 12th exam and the second one can be in the next year only. So if the candidate misses one attempt in the year of appearing for the 12th exam then he can attempt the same in the next year only. |
