Cant say because it is nt mentioned anywhere in ISI, Admission notification that how many students are selected for B.Maths there.However I remember few years before the number of students was about 30.

maximum seats 50 nearly, but they dont take students if they dont satisfy thier level which they want if you wish to see your chances just give olympiads to check your level (RMO,INMO,IMO)

Admission test of ISI is not so tough. We cant compare it with either of them, weather it is RMO,INMO,IMO.

I had appeared for RMO, it is much tougher then even IITJEE Mathematics.

Yes of course dear ! after B.MAths one can get into MS or P.hd directly also in some cases.

B.Maths is a special degree constructed by ISI, which is a core subject. B.Math is not a new think it is most familier and of greater inportance then normal B.sc (Maths hons). This type of courses are common in foreign countries, it is not so spread in India thats a different matter.

Institutes like- IIT's IISC, ISI etc are build after passing a special law from parliament of India from time to time when the need for such institute in India is felt. Law for establishing IIT was passed in 1953 and so on.

And this types of Institute has full power for conducting such types of courses. B.Maths is specially constructed for one who want to explore there career in Research. IISER offers 5 years MS program in PCMB which conssists of 4 years B.Maths like course and 1 year MS.

However, in this type of courses besides students has to study all 4 science subject along with 1 humanity for at least 2 year then he/she can specialise in particular.

Number of students selected are very few , around 35.

Important Months

1. Look for distribution of prospectus and application form of ISI Kolkata, during the month February

2.Make it a point to submit your application form as soon as possible as the last date for submission will be sometime during the last two weeks of March.

3.Prepare well for selection test to be held in the first week of May.
