The third battle of Panipat was between Ahmed Sah Abdali and Marathas held in 1761 and has a special importance in Indian modern History. It broke the unity among Marathas. Importance of this battle is reflected in following points:

1. It led to downfall of Maratha's Empire and rise of English in northern India.

2. With loss of this battle, the creation of Hindu empire also got lost in history.
