how many marks needed to get a job in core companies

Dear sir,
There is no such fix criteria for getting job.Some companies conduct there on test and on the basis of that we recruit the candidates.For example, RRB,State govt. department like irrigation, state power etc.
But most of companies ask for 60% marks in your engineering. Some ask for 65% marks.
There are lot of PSus which are going to recruit candidates through GATE only. Different companies ask different %age. There is relaxation for SC/ST of 5% marks.

Now days core companies wont look at the marks they look at your depth knowledge in the subject and your personal attitude.. Even though if you have a good score of above 60% it will be good since some companies keep the percentage as an eligibility criteria.
So to get into core companies you must have the knowledge as well as good marks will be well and good.

hi, first you need to say which branch you are. In getting job on core side u need to have knowledge on particular branch and regarding ur subjects , you need to have minimum 60% in ur degree then u need to have a knowledge in ur core subjects . don't discourage ur self be confidence u will sure get the job

Generally for software or it companies you have to score a minimum percentage of marks and that minimum percentage is generally between 70% to 80% and above. But normally core companies do not have such kind of high marks restriction. They need percentage of marks just as a primary eligibility for placement process. And most of the time 60% is the percentage fixed by the core companies. And they calculate this percentage from the average of all the GPA of your all semesters.

As far as how much marks are needed to get a job in core company is concern,65% is the minimum percentage in academics asked by the core companies from their candidates. Most of the core companies look onto graduation academics only whereas software companies looks into academics since 10th standard ownwards,candidates clearing these requirements, the next step will be written exam . Students shortlisted from the exam will have a Technical and HR interview or only a HR interview based on the company requirements

As you have not mentioned the name of the companies ,it is very difficult to tell you exact details about % criteria for the recruitment and you discipline is also unavailable to me.

However ,I would like to tell you minimum % of marks which is needed for getting job in core companies.Different core companies have different % requirement.

I am explaining you taking a example:

If you have pursued your bachelor of technology from any core branch of engineering like civil,mechanical,electrical etc,the minimum % of marks required to get placed in core companies is about 65% in bachelor's degree with no backlogs.

Some of the core companies like NTPC,ONGC,BHEL,SAIL,GAIL ,BSNL demand 65% of marks in it.

You must have secured at least 60% marks in 10th and 12th also.

Other than % criteria you must have good communication skill ,attitude ,good perosnality and the last thing what matters is knowledge in your respective stream .

Note: Marks will just make you eligible for the recruitment process and it is knowledge which will provide you the job .

So,along with good % of marks ,try to gain as much as knowledge as possible.

to get a job in core companies you can apply directly after qulifying gate exam with good percentile and a good score
you need to have minimum 60% in B.Tech for having job in core companies directly. it depends company to companies

The percentage may differ in different companies so it may not be same but it will be slightly different for different posts.

Most of the Core companies demand above 60% marks throughout your Academic Career. So keep it above 60% then you will not have any kind of problem.

Some companies also ask for GATE qualified students. So if you are GATE qualified then you will have edge ove other candidates.

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and you can give this exam if you are Graduate in Any Engineering stream. Those who are in final year can also apply for it.

Most of the PSUs like GAIL, BHEL , SAIL, NTPC etc ask for 60% marks and GATE score for recruitment for the Executive trainee post.

The selection in most of the Core companies will have following stages:

-Written Examination

-Technical Interview

-HR Interview

So be prepared for the above stages if you want to join a good core company.

what kind of job??

sir, I have 2 yr drop between class 12 and btech mechanical 1st yr due to good preparation for entrance exam. i'm in JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY.......in each semester i took either 1st or 2nd position........am i eligable for any core company??????

for a job in core companies they need aggregate percentage of 60%in class 10th and 12th..????or minimum60% in individually in both 10th and 12th??
