What is the required percentage in B.Tech Mechanical to apply for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam? Do they consider all semester's marks or only final one?

*GATE is conducted for admission in M.Tech or recruitment in PSU's. The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed B.tech or M.Sc from a recognised university.

*There is no minimum required aggregate to appear in the examination. If you have passed Bachelor of Technology then you can apply for the GATE exam.

Entrance examination is conducted by IIT or IISc for admission.

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it is conducted by IIT or IISc every year for admission in M.Tech course.

Candidates interested in recruitment in PSU's have to appear and qualify in the examination.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in technology or master degree in science or computer application from a recognised institute. Candidates with qualifying aggregate are eligible to appear in the examination.

Candidates with standing backlogs also apply for exam. They have to give a certificate signed by HOD that they have backlog.

Recruitment in PSU's is also made on the basis of rank in the GATE.
