sir,im ankit of first year,Arts and i want to became an ias officer.i heard that the pattern changed.so please help me how to prepare in details.i would be very thankful to you.

The IAS exam has mainly three steps. Candidates must successfully pass each of these exams as to get posted as an IAS officer. There are two written exams and one interview. Candidates need to practice extensively with sheer focus as to crack the exam. There are many coaching centers which offer candidates training as to pass each step in a systematic manner. Join a coaching center and practice as per the structure which they prepare students.

•Be very particular about the subject you choose for prelims, as you will be appearing for an objective type of paper. History, maths, geography may prove to be very scoring. Choose subjects which have availability of books, reading material and guidance.
•G.K. will definitely pay in your prelims. Reading newspapers, watching TV news and of course quiz shows like KBC is a must.
•Enhance your personality & communication skills
•Practice & see previous years questions papers

As you are 1st year student ,you have better time to prepare. start reading ncert books of cbse pattern from 6th standard to 12th standard of all subjects,it will help you to prepare for general studies. select optional subjects in which you have interest and capability in the subject.

i suggest you read newspaper daily..
read magazines for current affair knowledge...
Be update in every type of news..
